Your yard sale for only $15 USD
For $15 our online services allows you to advertise your yard sale to the Capital District community. As well as being listed on this site, we will list you on our parent site: spotlightnews.com.
We will even provide you with a link (URL) that isolates your account from all the others. Send that in an email to as many people as you'd like. Yard sale enthusiasts can even find your yard sale on their mobile phones.
Privacy Policy
Your personal information will never be shared or used for telemarketing. We will not publicize your contact information.
Usernames and passwords
You provide the username. Passwords are sent to your email. Please use a valid email address. If you have not recieved your password, send email to: help@capitaldistrictyarsale.com. If you forgot it, then go here and follow the instructions.
Payments and activation
Payments are handled through PayPal. However, a PayPal account is not required as they except credit card and check payments.
Payments verified by PayPal are instant, and your account will be activated within minutes. You can also pay by mailing a check or money order to us, and we will activate your account once payment is received.
If you'll be sending us a check or money order please be sure to include your Yard Sale ID.
If you are not prepared to make a payment at the time of setup, you can login to your (Pending) account and your yard sale information will be waiting for you. This makes it easy to pay later.
Expiration
Your yard sale will expire on it's scheduled date, and all images will be deleted 24 HRS after your account expires.
Your account will remain in place should you like to purchase future yard sales. This means you can use the same account over and over again. However, you will need to pay the $15 fee to re-activate any new yard sales.
Promote your yard sale weeks/months in advance
Let's say that it's February 1st and you know your yard sale is going to be a month or two away... for example, on Saturday May 19th 2007. No problem, you can set it up right now and start getting the word out. If you need to move the date back or ahead, you have until the initial scheduled date to make any changes.
Uploading pictures of yard sale items to your account
Photos must be less than 2MB and in the JPG format.
Photos may not contain nudity, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images. If you violate these terms your account will be deleted.
Capitaldistrictyardsale.com reserves the right to review all photos and to remove any photo for any reason at our sole discretion.
All images will be deleted 24 HRS after your account expires.
Manage your account whenever you want - 24/7
You have total access to your yard sale account. Feel free to change the date, key words, images, descriptions, or even the location.
Multiple accounts
If you need to have more than one yard sale, please be sure to logout before setting up additional accounts. You will need to logout/login in order to manage multiple accounts. If there is a duplicate of your address in our system they will still appear on our site, but not on the Google Maps. The Google Maps will only display the earliest date.
Mobile Yard Sale
Use your cell phone and our Mobile Yard Sale service to find local yard sales. We offer a compiled listing of all the capitaldistrictyardsale.com yard sales going on in the immediate 24 hours. Basicly, it's a trimmed down version of our site... no graphics... no advertisments... just an address and a description. Perfect for when you're on the go. We use the Wireless Markup Language (WML), so our content should be viewable on the majority of mobile browsers. On your phone: capitaldistrictyardsale.com/mobile/
Google Maps
Google Maps shows your yard sale location on our site. The yard sale map is public, and is freely available to all visitors for viewing. The Google Maps API is currently a beta service, and address accuracy issues have been noted. This part of the service will be provided "as is".
